As we prepare to enter into the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony, we're filled with joy knowing that you'll be there to witness this sacred moment! Your presence means the world to us as we celebrate this blessed union surrounded by our cherished family and friends.
We've included all the details you'll need for our special day on this site, but please don't hesitate to reach out to us or our families with any questions.
What is the dress code?
Dress code is semi-formal, so please plan to wear church clothes—no jeans or t-shirts, please! We want everyone to feel polished and ready for a special evening. Wedding party will be wearing navy dresses and suits.
Will the ceremony and reception be in the same location?
No, the ceremony and reception will take place at two different venues:
Ceremony: Sacred Heart Cathedral (520 W 12th St, Davenport, IA)
Reception: The Black Hawk Hotel (200 E 3rd St, Davenport, IA)
There’s about a 5-minute walk or 2-minute drive between the two venues, so you’ll have plenty of time to get from one to the other.
Where should I park?
Both the Sacred Heart Cathedral and the Black Hawk Hotel have convenient parking.
Sacred Heart Cathedral: There is a big parking lot at the church.
The Black Hawk Hotel: There is valet parking at the hotel, and there are also public parking garages within walking distance.
We encourage carpooling or using ride-sharing services if you prefer not to park.
What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
Please plan to arrive at Sacred Heart Cathedral by 1:00 for the ceremony, which will begin promptly at 1:30. We recommend arriving a little early to find parking, grab a seat, and settle in.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We kindly ask that guests do not take photos or videos during the ceremony so we can enjoy the moment with our professional photographers and videographers. We’ll make sure to share the photos with everyone afterward so you can see all the special moments!
Is there a shuttle service between the ceremony and reception?
While we do not have a dedicated shuttle service, both the Sacred Heart Cathedral and Black Hawk Hotel are very close to each other (only 5 minutes by walking or a 2-minute drive). There will be plenty of time to travel between the two venues.
Will there be dancing at the reception?
Yes! The reception will feature a fun night of dancing, music, and celebration. We can’t wait to hit the dance floor with you! Get ready for some great tunes, and be prepared to dance the night away.
What happens if I can’t make it to the wedding?
We completely understand! If for any reason you’re unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible, so we can adjust our plans accordingly. We’ll miss you but appreciate you thinking of us!
What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?
We want everyone to enjoy the food at the reception! If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know when you RSVP, and we’ll make sure to accommodate your needs.
